Department’s Mission
The Department of Periodontology is concerned with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the supporting and surrounding tissues of teeth, and maintenance of overall health, function and esthetics of the oral cavity. 

About The Department
The Department of Periodontology at Subharti was established in 1998 with the goal of imparting advanced education in Periodontics. The post -graduation, in the specialty, was started in 2004 and currently has an intake of 6 seats per year. The department has a well-furnished library, a fully equipped air-conditioned P.G, Intern & U.G. Clinic and Minor O.T. 

 

Salient Features of The Department
The Department has an ADVANCED PERIO-ESTHETIC SURGICAL UNIT and A GLICKMAN RESEARCH STATION for performing advanced Aesthetic and regenerative surgeries. The department is equipped with the latest armamentarium & materials. The department takes pride in excelling in various basic and advanced periodontal procedures like placement of dental implants, regenerative surgeries, muco-gingival / Perio-plastic procedures and use of lasers and Piezosurgery equipment. The undergraduate students and interns are also exposed to periodontal surgeries by means of various preclinical exercises of Lasers, electrosurgery and Piezosurgery on animal models.

Achievements, Awards & Recognitions of the Department
There is an active participation of both students and faculty in various academic activities on National and International platforms. The department takes pride in having 1 Patent to its credit. Students and faculties have won awards at different events. Our faculty has served as “Resource Person” – as chairperson, course mentors, guest speakers and experts in numerous Workshops, Conferences and CDEs.
