CASE REPORT
A patient named Sarla Devi 65 years old visited to the department of Oral Medicine & radiology with a chief complaint of burning sensation and ulcerations in the oral cavity since 3-4 months. Patient was apparently asymptomatic 3-4 months back when she noticed erythematous ulcer on her left and right posterior soft palate measuring 2 cm by 1.5 cm and also on the floor of the mouth and buccal mucosa. She also felt burning sensation in the oral cavity. It aggravated on taking stress and relived on drinking cold water. The final diagnosis was pemphigus vulgaris.

TREATMENT PLAN

  • EMERGENCY PHASE : not required
  • NON-SURGICAL PHASE :
  • Prednisolone 20 mg-single morning dose
  • Prednisolone 20 mg – swish and swallow (under physician opinion)
  • 0.1% triamcinalone acetonide-4to5 times topical application
  • Cap Zevit-OD
  • SURGICAL PHASE : not required.
  • RESTORATIVE PHASE : not required.

MAINTAINANCE PHASE : Patient was recalled after 2 weeks.
