Department’s Mission
“Primary mission is to cater to the needs of people in and around Meerut in the best possible manner and to raise dental awareness among the people. The department aims at maintaining the highest of standards in education, patient care as well as research activities.”
About The Department
Welcome to the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics. The commonest dental problems in Indian population are dental caries and dental pain. The primary goal of this department is prevention, diagnosis and treatment of sequelae of dental caries and associated dental pain and the other defects of natural teeth to restore the teeth to full function and appearance in an aesthetically pleasing manner. This department runs with a mission to promote health care, provide education on par with international standards and pursue excellence in patient management.
The department boosts its three separate clinical sections for the undergraduates, interns and postgraduates allowing efficient treatment for patients according to their specific needs. There are approximately 30 undergraduates, 10 interns and 18 post graduates catering to the needs of patients apart from dedicated faculty for supervision and treatment. The department treats on average 45000 patients annually.
ACADEMICS
Academic curriculum involves problem-based learning lectures and clinical teachings for undergraduate students apart from preclinical labs for facilitating skill development and learning before and during clinical exposure. Faculty is constantly involved in clinical based teaching and demonstration activities for undergraduates and interns. Students actively uptake regular assessments in the form of end posting viva and post lecture assessment. Special emphasis is taken to bring the slow performers at par with other colleagues. Post graduate curriculum involves supervised preclinical exercises for necessary training before initiation of clinical work. Different routine and specialized dental care treatments are performed individually by every postgraduate under constant supervision by trained faculty.
Regular seminars, journal clubs and case discussions are conducted in an organized and streamlined manner for upgrading knowledge and skills.
TREATMENT FACILITIES
Universal precautions with strict infection control measures are followed for operator and patient safety. Every week day OPD runs from 10:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m. The department has state-of that art technology, and infrastructure to render needful services to patients. Department boost of its highly skilled and dedicated team of dentists ready to provide prompt and quality care to every patient to his satisfaction. Department also runs a caries prevention and diet counseling clinic for the benefit of patients.

Salient Features Of The Department
OPERATION THEATRE, LABORATORIES & AVAILABLE FACILITIES
The department has its own fully equipped surgical and microsurgical OT for surgical purposes
“The department now has its own sleek and lightweight CEREC Omnicam intraoral scanner and CAD CAM unit by Dentsply Sirona to produce chairside restorations faster and easier.”
The Department is well equipped with various labs and clinical sections enumerated as under: -
UG Pre-clinical Lab equipped with 60 fully functional phantom head models - For 1st, 2nd and final year
Post graduate preclinical lab - Equipped with fully functional 10 phantom head models and high speed airotor connection
Clinics For BDS- Well equipped, spacious clinics with 30 dental units
Clinics for Interns - Well equipped, spacious clinics with 10 dental units
Post graduate Clinic- Department has a separate post graduate wing consisting of 18 well equipped air conditioned separate clinical cabins for each post graduate patient.
Post Graduate Laboratory-
Ceramic Lab Department has a separate air-Conditioned lab for Metal-Ceramic work
Casting Lab is equipped with casting machine, Burnout Furnace, Porcelain Furnace, Solodex Compound Furnace, Sandblaster, Pindex system and Lathe Machine
Post Graduate Seminar Room- Department has a separate seminar room with Audiovisual and sitting capacity of 30 people.
