Department of Public Health Dentistry in collaboration with MasterMind- The Student's Club of Subharti Dental College & Hospital, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University Meerut had organized an Undergraduate CDE program for our BDS students titled "Dentistry Beyond Barriers" on 17th August 2024. The purpose of this program is to provide them the knowledge for various career opportunities beyond boundaries and prepare our students for the workplace by providing them with the skills and knowledge they require for getting success in their chosen career path. Two Re-knowned speakers took the lecture.
- Dr. Anshu Tomar (an alumnus of Batch 1999), Dental Surgeon & Prep Instructor, Canada(Dentistry Beyond Barriers) on the topic Dentistry beyond Carrier Dr.Anshu Tomar
- .Ms. Sarabjit Sidhu, Clinical Researcher & Medical Writing, GAADS. (Modern Day Carrer Opportunity ) on the topic Modern Day Career Opportunity.
Name of the Event: Field visit of Sewage treatment plant, Effluent treatment plant, Biomedical waste management plant and Solar Energy Production System.
Objective: To help them to understand the techniques involved in disposing and managing a Hospital waste Biomedical waste and also gives them an immense knowledge about the techniques involved in it and also to motivate the students regarding the usage of renewable sources of energy in the institutions.
Activities: Department of Public Health Dentistry, Subharti Dental College & Hospital in collaboration with University Environment Committee, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University Meerut had organized an educational field trip at Sewage treatment plant, Effluent treatment plant, Biomedical waste management plant and Solar Energy Production System of our University on 22nd July 2024 for our BDS third year & final year students as a part of their curriculum. The purpose of this field visit is to provide the knowledge and practical exposure to our BDS students towards understanding the importance of mechanism and process of STP & ETP, renewable energy resources (solar plant) and biomedical waste management for promoting, protecting and conserving the environment. We are thankful to our Swami Vivekanand Subharti University for their remarkable contribution and establishment towards sustainable environment.

Activities of Department of Public Health Dentistry from 2015-2024
Name of the Event: Field visit of Biomedical Waste Treatment plant 22nd May 2024
Objective: To help them to understand the techniques involved in disposing and managing a Biomedical waste and also gives them an immense knowledge about the techniques involved in it.
The purpose of this activity is to sensitize them about segregation, handling, transportation of waste in our day to day clinical work and disposed them at source. Activities: Department of Public health Dentistry Subharti Dental College Organized a field visit for BDS student as part of Curriculum with the support of synergy waste management Pvt. Ltd Meerut On 22nd May 2024.This plant is authorized by central pollution control Board mainly Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board. According to the Bio-medical Waste Management Rules, 2016, "bio-medical waste treatment and disposal facility" means any facility wherein treatment, disposal of bio-medical waste or processes incidental to such treatment and disposal is carried out, and includes common bio-medical waste treatment facilities and "operator of a common bio-medical waste treatment facility" means a person who owns or controls a Common Bio-medical Waste Treatment and Disposal Facility (CBWTF) for the collection, reception, storage, transport, treatment, disposal or any other form of handling of bio-medical waste.
This plant is one of the most active plant and it moves approximately 4000 Health care facilities. This plant is having incinerator capacity 300kg/ hour.

Department of Public Health Dentistry, Subharti Dental College & Hospital, in collaboration with University Environment Committee Swami Vivekanand Subharti University and MasterMind’s-The Students Club,Swami Vivekanand Subharti University had celebrated World Health Day on 7th April 2024. This year the theme of World Health Day is ‘My Health My Right ’.
Activities organized on this occasion were: 1. Guest Lecture on ‘Oral Health for Overall Health’ by Dr. Anurag Srivastava, Oncology Dept. Subharti Hospital, Meerut. 2. Distribution of Clothes and needy items at Leprosy Home, Meerut 3. Quiz Competition 4. Outreach activity at Parikshitgarh 5. Video Making competition
Name of the Event: World Oral Health Day 20th March 2024
Objective: Every year World Oral Health Day was observed on 20th March to spread awareness among the public for maintaining good oral health and hygiene and "how can we prevent our mouth free from oral diseases. This year the theme was " A HAPPY MOUTH IS A HAPPY BODY ". With this aim Subharti Dental College & Hospital, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut had conducted various activities and celebrated this occasion fortnightly and put our complete efforts in motivating and spreading the awareness among the community of Meerut District.
Activities: A details of the activities conducted on this occasion by all the specialties are as follows:
- An Outreach program was conducted in Village Khajuri on 18th March 2024 in which free dental screening and treatment were provided to the school and rural patients along with Oral health motivational talk for better oral health along with distribution of toothpaste.
- An Outreach program was conducted in Somdatt Vihar Meerut on 19th March 2024 in which free dental screening and treatment were provided to the school and rural patients along with Oral health motivational talk for better oral health.
- An Outreach program was conducted in Village Arnavali on 20th March 2024 in which free dental screening and treatment were provided to the school and rural patients along with Oral health motivational talk for better oral health
- An Outreach program was conducted in Village Gohra Alamgirpur on 21st March 2024 in which free dental screening and treatment were provided to the school and rural patients along with Oral health motivational talk for better oral health. along with that a Nukkad Natak (Skit) were performed by BDS students at Outreach program for creating an awareness in the society regarding oral health.
- An Outreach program was conducted in Police Lines, Meerut on 22nd March 2024 in which free dental screening and treatment were provided to the school and rural patients along with Oral health motivational talk for better oral health
- An Outreach program was conducted in Central Jail ,Meerut on 23rd March 2024 in which free dental screening and treatment were provided to the prisoners along with Oral health motivational talk for better oral and systemic health.
- Distribution of toothpastes and toothbrush to the opd patients of CSSH Hospital
- Oral Health Promption through placement of stickers in public places & on vehicles.
- An Outreach program was conducted in Sai International School,Meerut on 29th March 2024 in which free dental screening and treatment were provided to the school patients along with Oral health motivational talk for better oral health
- An Outreach program was conducted in The Avenue Public School, Meerut on 30th March 2024 in which free dental screening and treatment were provided to the school patients along with Oral health motivational talk for better oral health
- An Outreach program was conducted in The SBA Public School, Kila Parikshitgarh Meerut on 1st April 2024 in which free dental screening and treatment were provided to the school patients along with Oral health motivational talk for better oral health
- An Outreach program was conducted in Madan Mohan Vidya Mandir School, Meerut on 4th April 2024 in which free dental screening and treatment were provided to the school kids & Teachers along with Oral health motivational talk for better oral health

Objective: This day is celebrated on 8th March every year around the world.
It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic & Political.
Activities: On this day, Dept. of Public health dentistry had organized following activities:
- Free OPD and treatment for women patients in our department.
- Sensitization session for non-teaching staff on sanitation and hygiene.
- Distribution of free sanitary pads to female non-teaching staff

Objective: It was observed on 6th March every year and created as a day to say “Thank you” and show appreciation to the Dentist.
Activities: On this day, Dept. of Public health dentistry had distributed Smileys of Happy Dentist Day to all faculty members & students of dental college.

Name of the Event: Monthly Lecture Series
Monthly Lecture Series, an initiative of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University. Department of Public Health Dentistry, Subharti Dental College & Hospital, SVSU Meerut under the able guidance of our dynamic Principal & Dean, Dr Nikhil Srivastava has organised an interdisciplinary Monthly Lecture Series under the aegis of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Chair, in collaboration with the Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law, SVSU on 30th December 2023. Guest lecture was delivered to our BDS Final year students & Interns by a renowned Advocate of Supreme Court of India, Mr. Pranshu Kaushal on "Structure of Indian Constitution. We are very thankful to Dr. Prem Chandra and Dr. Sarika Tyagi for all the coordination and making this lecture session a huge success.
"Knowledge is a treasure, but practice is the key to it".

The Death Anniversary of four Sahibjada’s (Veer Balidan Diwas) is celebrated by Faculty of Dental Sciences, Subharti Dental College & Hospital on 28th December, 2023 from 10.00 A.M onwards. On this occasion the following events were organised-
- Script Writing Competition.
- Quiz Competition.
- Guest Lecture by Mr. Ajay Mittal Ji (RSS)
All UG/PG students from recognized College/Institute/University were allowed to participate. To invite the registration for both the compettion two separate registration link on google form were generated. Last date of registration was 26.12.2023. Total 24 entries are received for Script Writing and quiz competition out of which total 24 particpants appeared for speech and quiz competition.
Name of the Event: World AIDS Day 1st December 2023
Objective:, designated on 1 December every year since 1988, is dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection, and mourning those who have died of the disease. Government and health officials, non-governmental organizations and individuals around the world observe the day, often with education on AIDS prevention and control.
Activities: 1.Red Ribbon was distributed to all Faculty members and Postgraduate students.
2. Awareness Lecture on AIDS disease for our BDS Students.
Name of the Event-National Tooth Brushing Day 07th November 2023
Objective- National Tooth Brushing Day is observed every year on 7th November. The purpose of which is to educate the masses for practicing correct method of Tooth Brushing and also to create awareness for improving their Oral Health & Hygiene.
Activity-
Activities conducted are as follows:
- An Oral health educational program along with dental screening camp was organised at RAF Academy For Public Order (RAPO), Meerut in which Oral Health talk was delivered, followed by free distribution of toothpaste and toothbrush to the patients on 7/11/23.
- Free preventive and primary treatment were given to the OPD patients along with free distribution of toothpastes & toothbrush to all the Department OPD patients.

Objective: To make Aware about the Contribution of Freedom Fighters in Indian Freedom Struggle.

Objective: To improve the determinants of oral health.

"National Pharmacovigilance Week 2023"
"National Pharmacovigilance Week 2023" Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery and Department of Public Health Dentistry, Subharti Dental College and Hospital in association with Department of Pharmacology, Subharti Medical College, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University Meerut had organized a public awareness program to mark National Pharmacovigilance week from 17 September -23 September 2023 under the able guidance of our dynamic Principal and Dean Dr Nikhil Srivastava Sir. This year's theme was "Boosting Public Confidence in Pharmacovigilance".
The following series of events were organised to create mass awareness regarding adverse drug reaction.
- Nukkad Natak for patient safety and medication errors related to adverse drug reaction.
- Guest lecture titled" ADR Monitoring and Pharmacovigilance" by Dr Utkarsh Mittal, Faculty from Pharmacology Department to sensitize our BDS students, interns and PGs about Drug monitoring ,adverse reaction and various tools for reporting adverse drug reaction
- Quiz Contest for BDS students Certificates of Appreciation were given to the Speaker and to all the winners of Quiz Contest.
The purpose of this kind of initiative was to create awareness to identify and report adverse drug reactions due to medicines and vaccines among health care professionals, patients and general public and also to protect patients from ill effects of various medicines. This event had generated a sense of responsibility and commitment towards a rational drug prescription. "It's Time to Act".

Objective: To raise the awareness of the need for donating safe blood and blood products and to thank blood donors for their voluntary donation of blood for a noble cause and to save people’s life as a part of National voluntary blood donation campaign.
Activities: Inauguration (Ribbon cutting ceremony) & Lamp lightening was done by Chief Guest Dr. Pradeep Bharti Gupta, Principal, Subharti Medical College, SVSU, Meerut, Dr. Devendra Swaroop Incharge Blood Bank, Dr. Nikhil Srivastava , Principal, Subharti Dental College & Hospital ,SVSU, Meerut and all the Head of the Departments from other departments were also present during the session.. After the blood donation blood donors were awarded with the certificates followed by refreshment.

Objective: Every year on 31st May 2023 World No Tobacco Day is organized to promote the awareness about the risk related to the consumption of tobacco and its product and its ill effects on the family, society and environment and also to emphasizes the significance of this day which serves as a global platform to raise awareness about the hazards of tobacco use and promote cessation efforts.
The theme of this year is ‘We need food not tobacco’ With this aim Department of Public Health Dentistry, Subharti Dental College & Hospital, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut in collaboration with University Environment Committee SVSU, IDA Meerut Cantt Students Wing and MasterMinds The Student Club had conducted various activities and celebrated this occasion and put our complete efforts in motivating and spreading the awareness among the society all around Meerut District.
Activities: A glimpse of the activities conducted on this occasion are as follows:
- An Outreach program was conducted in Multannagar (UHC),Village Ghat and Village Puttha in colloboration with Subharti Medical College and Faculty of Sciences respectively on 31st May 2023
- An Outreach program was conducted in Village Shobhapur on1st June 2023 in which free dental screening and treatment were provided to the rural patients
- Oral health awareness talk was given to the people regarding the harmful effects of tobacco on oral health and demonstrated proper brushing technique for maintaining good oral health and hygiene and also emphasized on healthy food for good health.

The Death Anniversary of Shaheed Sukhdev Balidan Diwas (Subharti Diwas) is celebrated by Faculty of Dental Sciences, Subharti Dental College & Hospital on 23rd March, 2023 from 10.00 A.M onwards. On this occasion the following events were organised-

- Video Making Competition.
All UG/PG students from recognized College/Institute/University were allowed to participate. Celebration of this historic day is started in LT 4 Subharti Dental College & Hospital with the welcome address by Dr. Nikhil Srivastava. Total 53 members were present in the Hall.
After introduction of Judges a special Guest lecture was delivered by Mr. Kuldeep Narayan from Sanskriti Vibhag.
After Guest Lecture speech competition was organized followed by quiz compitition.

Name of the Event: Field visit of Primary Health Centre & Community Health Centre.
Objective: To help them to understand about the functioning of Primary Health Centre (PHC)& Community Health Centre (CHC) about the facilities and services provided by them to rural communities.
Activities: Department of Public Health Dentistry, Subharti Dental College & Hospital,Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut had organized a field visit for our BDS student as part of DCI Curriculum At Primary Health Centre, Jani Khurd & Community Health Centre, Panchli District-Meerut on 31sr August 2021. Primary Health Centres are the cornerstone of rural health services- a first port of call to a qualified doctor of the public sector in rural areas for the sick and those who directly report or referred from Sub-centres for curative, preventive and promotive health care. A Primary Health Centre covers a population of 20,000 in hilly, tribal, or difficult areas and 30,000 populations in plain areas with 4-6 indoor/observation beds. It acts as a referral unit for 6 sub- centres and refer out cases to CHC (30 bedded hospital) and higher order public hospitals located at sub-district and district level.

2022
Objective: Every year World Oral Health Day was
observed on 20th March to spread awareness among the public for
maintaining good oral health and hygiene and "how can we
prevent our mouth free from oral diseases. This
year the theme was
"Be proud of your
mouth". With this aim
Subharti Dental College & Hospital, Swami Vivekanand
Subharti University, Meerut had conducted various activities and
celebrated this occassion more than a week and put our
complete efforts in motivating and spreading the awareness
among the society all around Meerut District.
Activities: A glimpse of the activities conducted
on this occasion are as follows:
1. An Outreach program was conducted in Rohta Block Village
Banwaripur on 14th March 2022 in which free dental
screening and treatment were provided to the rural patients along
with oral health promotion.
2. An Outreach program was conducted in Sardhana Block Village
Lohiya on 15th March 2022 in which free dental check up and
treatment were provided to the rural patients along with oral health
promotion.
3. An Outreach program was conducted in Central Jail, Meerut on 19th
March 2022 in which free dental check up & treatment was
done and Oral Health talk was also delivered to the prisoners of
Jail.
4. A Oral health motivational talk was given by faculty members from
the Department of Pedodontics, Department of Periodontics &
Implantology & Department of Public Health Dentistry to the OPD
patients on these aspects :
- Demonstrating correct method of brushing techniques.
- How and when to use toothpastes & mouthwashes.
- Emphasis on taking healthier food in life
- Quitting a bad oral habits
5. A Human awareness chain i.e. logo of World oral Health Day was
formed by our BDS Batch-2019 for creating awareness among the
patients for oral health problems
and motivating the patients to
maintain good oral hygiene.
6. Oral Health Educational Pamphlets, Calendars along with Oral
Health Slogans and various IEC material were distributed to all the
OPD & Outreach program patients.
7. Free toothpastes & mouthwashes were also distributed among
the patients.
8. Organised a Painting & Video Competition for BDS students to
evaluate their knowledge on oral health and also motivate them for
spreading an awareness among the masses.
9. Organised a Quiz Competition for BDS students.
10. Organised a Health talk for BDS Final Year students.
11. An Outreach program was conducted in Sardhana Block Village
Nangli Teerth on 22nd March 2022 in which free dental check up and
treatment were provided to the patients along with oral health
promotion.
12. Organised a Slogan Competition for BDS Third Year
students.
13. An Outreach program was conducted in Rohta Block Village
Chindoli on 24th March 2022 in which free dental check
up and treatment were provided to the patients along with oral
health promotion.
14. An Outreach program was conducted in Sardhana Block M S B
International School Village Bharala on 23rd and 25th March 2022 in
which free dental screening were provided to the students along with
oral health promotion and health talk during assembly hours.
15. An Outreach program was conducted in Shemrock Learning Steps
school in Meerut on 26th March 2022 in which free dental screening
were conducted. The parents and kids were also given a health talk
on oral health promotion.
16. Organised a Quiz Competition for BDS students
At the end of this occasion, prizes were given to all the winner
students and certificate of participation were distributed to all
the students participated in this event.

Name of the Event: Voluntary Blood Donation Camp on 25th October 2021Objective: To raise the awareness of the need for donating safe blood and blood products and to thank blood donors for their voluntary donation of blood for a noble cause and to save people’s life as a part of National voluntary blood donation campaign.
Activities: Inauguration (Ribbon cutting ceremony) & Lamp lightening was done by Chief Guest Dr. A.K. Srivastava, Principal, Subharti Medical College,SVSU, Meerut, Dr. Devendra Swaroop Incharge Blood Bank, Dr. Nikhil Srivastava , Principal, Subharti Dental College & Hospital ,SVSU, Meerut and all the Head of the Departments from other departments were also present during the session. On this day, a total of 84 faculty & students had volunteered to donate blood voluntarily. After the blood donation blood donors were awarded with the certificates followed by refreshment.

working of Primary Health Centre (PHC)& also about the
facilities and services provided by them to rural communities.
The purpose of this activity is to sensitize them about the working
of Community Health Centre (CHC).

Subharti Dental College Organized a field visit for BDS student as
part of Curriculum At Primary Health Centre, Jani Khurd &
Community Health Centre, Panchli Khurd District-Meerut On 18th
October2021. Primary Health Centres are the cornerstone of rural
health services- a first port of call to a qualified doctor of the
public sector in rural areas for the sick and those who directly
report or referred from Sub-centres for curative, preventive and
promotive health care. A typical Primary Health Centre covers a
population of 20,000 in hilly, tribal, or difficult areas and
30,000 populations in plain areas with 4-6 indoor/observation
beds. It acts as a referral unit for 6 sub- centres and refer out
cases to CHC (30 bedded hospital) and higher order public hospitals
located at sub-district and district level. Standards are the main
driver for continuous improvements in quality.
This CHC is one
of the most active centre in Meerut District and it covers around 55
villages and it moves 4000 Health care facilities.

Objective: To make Aware about the Contribution of Durga Bhabhi in Indian Freedom Struggle.
‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
Durgavati Devi popularly known as 'Durga Bhabhi' (7 October 1907 – 15 October 1999) was an Indian revolutionary and a freedom fighter. She was one of the few women revolutionaries who actively participated in armed revolution against the ruling British Raj. She is best known for having accompanied Bhagat Singh on the train journey in which he made his escape in disguise after the Saunders killing. Since she was the wife of Hindustan Socialist Republican Association (HSRA) member Bhagwati Charan Vohra, other members of HSRA referred to her as Bhabhi (elder brother's wife) and became popular as "Durga Bhabhi" in Indian revolutionary circles.

The celebration of 75 years of India’s independence will begin with this ceremony. The Dandi March began on the same day.This festival will have a total of 75 events in 75 weeks with a pramuya program every week.

Free treatments were also provided in the Department on the same day.

Activities: Blood donation camp was organized in Dept. of Public Health Dentistry. A total number of 170 faculty, students and non-teaching staff donated blood for a very nobel cause.

Objective: World leprosy day is observed internationally every year on the last Sunday to increase the public awareness of the leprosy. This date was chosen by French humanitarian Raoul Follereau as a tribute to the life of Mahatma Gandhi who had compassion for people afflicted with leprosy.
Activities: On this occasion a lecture was delivered by the Faculty of Public Health Dentistry on Awareness of Leprosy disease and Oath were delivered by Principal Dr. Nikhil Srivastava and oath were taken by all the faculty &final year students of SDC & H.
Clothes were donated to the weaker section at Shri Vivekanand Kusht Ashram, Meerut.

Activities: On this day, Dept. of Public Health Dentistry had conducted an oral health screening camp in rural area of Rohta Meerut. All the patients who had a habit of chewing or smoking tobacco had been motivated and helped to quit the tobacco.
