Department’s Mission
- To acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of identifying oral health problems affecting the society, focusing on oral health problems that are prevalent among underprivileged sections.
- Conducting health surveys, providing health education and being patient voluntary.
- To promote and provide preventive services at the doorstep of the masses.
About The Department
The Department aims on conducting various research activities based on understanding the needs of the society with respect to Oral health care, not just at an individual level, but at the community level. Public Health means health of the masses, maintenance and care of which is our sole concern. We, with the goal of serving the community with an advanced infrastructure serves and caters the population with all oral health care facilities to the far away underserved rural areas. We are providing oral health education as well as tobacco cessation facilities to the population of Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Deoband, Saharanpur, Baghpat, Bulandshahr, Hapur, Ghaziabad and Noida. Not only this we are also promoting preventive and palliative care to the community, evaluating the oral health conditions and take measures to rectify such issues prevalent among the community.
Salient Features Of The Department
- SATELLITE CLINICS – We have our established and fully functional dental set up at rural and urban health centres in Meerut.
Satellite Clinic No.1 - Medical OPD, Chhatrapati Shivaji Subharti Hospital, Meerut.
Satellite Clinic No.2 - District Jail, Meerut.
Satellite Clinic No.3 - Khajuri P.H.C., Meerut.
Satellite Clinic No.4 - Sarawani P.H.C., Meerut.
Satellite Clinic No.5 - Multan Nagar U.H.C., Meerut.
Satellite Clinic No.6 - Lohiya Centre P.H.C., Meerut
- MOBILE DENTAL VAN
- Fully Air conditioned Mobile Dental Van
- Has Two functional Dental Chairs installed
- The MDV also caries:-
- In-built compressor
- Electric Generator
- LED Television with sound system
3 CLOTHES DONATION BOX –Currently there are total 3 Clothes Donation Box placed in the premises of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University which helps in providing free Clothes to the needy people of the society.
4.DENTAL MUSEUM-We are having fully functional oral health educational museum for patients, in that we are equipped with 1 Television,1 Digital Tablet and working models for patients. The purpose of this dental museum is to educate and motivate the common public and patients for maintaining good oral health. It also increases the awareness of important role that oral health plays in overall health.
5.PATIENT FEEDBACK REGISTER-This register is also kept at Dental Museum. The patients who are coming into the College for dental examination and treatment will be educated and motivated for the importance of oral hygiene, proper oral health practices, advanced treatment modalities available in all dental specialities and have to give feedback in the Feedback register which helps in evaluating the valuable information about patient perception and experiences about the quality dental care, which guide us further to improve the better oral health care delivery services.
