Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Subharti Dental College and Hospital, Meerut organized a Guest Lecture cum workshop under the guidance of our esteemed Principal Sir, Dr. Nikhil Srivastava on 26th March, 2025 on the topic “Bias in Clinical Research” & Workshop on “OSCE/OSPE Pattern of Examination”. The Lecture was taken by Dr. Richa Khanna Bahal (FAMER fellow, Professor, Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry, KGMU, Lucknow) The lecture highlighted the types of Bias in clinical research and the objective of workshop was ‘how to conduct practical examination in OSCE pattern’. In the end the Guest Speaker was felicitated by our Principal Sir, Dr. Nikhil Srivastava and Dr. Vivek Rana, Incharge, Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry.

Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Subharti Dental College and Hospital, Meerut organized an Alumni Lecture (SALS) under the guidance of our esteemed Principal Sir, Dr. Nikhil Srivastava on 24th January 2025 on the topic “Setting up an exclusive Pediatric Dental Clinic”. The lecture was taken by Dr. Renu Dagur (Professor Kalka Dental College, Meerut, Pediatric Dentist @Kids Dental Village) which was streamed on social media platform (YouTube). Dr. Renu Dagur is a distinguished alumni of Department of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry from 2005-2008. The lecture highlighted the setting up an exclusive pediatric dental clinic in general practice. In the end the Alumni Speaker was felicitated by the Department of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry.
Guest Lecture by Dr. Prabhleen Anand on the topic “Sedation Beyond Inhalation Sedation” on 18-12-2024
Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Subharti Dental College and Hospital, Meerut organized a Guest Lecture under the guidance of our esteemed Principal Sir, Dr. Nikhil Srivastava on 18th December, 2024 on the topic “Sedation Beyond Inhalation Sedation”. The Lecture was taken by Dr. Prabhleen Anand (Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry Sedation and GA lead for the Department RNENT and Eastman Dental Hospital UCLH NHS Trust Clinical lead at Happy Kids Dental, London) The lecture highlighted the objectives & uses of midazolam over nitrous oxide inhalational sedation in the all field of Dentistry. In the end the Guest Speaker was felicitated by our Principal Sir, Dr. Nikhil Srivastava and Dr. Vivek Rana, Incharge, Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry.
Continuing Dental Education Programme on 20.07.2024
Under the leadership and continuous guidance of Dr. Nikhil Srivastava, Principal, Subharti Dental College & Hospital, along with the Department of Periodontology & Implantology, Department of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry, Subharti Dental College & Hospital has organized CDE programme on the topic “Bloodless Surgeries”. The event included series of lectures, followed by Hands on – on animal models and live demonstration on patient. The speakers for the event were: Dr. Pavitra Rastogi, Professor, Department of Periodontology & Implantology, KGMU, Lucknow. The lecture delivered was on Electrosurgery, followed by hands on animal models. Dr. M.S. Saravana, Professor & Head, Department of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry, Sri Venkatewara Dental College & Hospital, Chennai, TN. The lecture delivered was on LASERS. The lecture was accompanied by hands on animal models. Dr. Prajesh Dubey, Professor, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Subharti Dental College & Hospital, Delivered a lecture on Cryosurgery. It was accompanied by live demonstrations on patient. The CDE program was also graced by the presence of Dr. Himanshu Aeran, Pro Vice Chancellor, Subharti University who shed some light on the importance of multidisciplinary approach for various dental treatments.
Undergraduate Continuing Dental Education Programme by Dr. Nikhil Marwah on the topic
“Full Coverage Restorations in Pediatric Dentistry” & Hands-on “Stainless Steel Crowns”. on 13-04-2024
Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Subharti Dental College and Hospital, Meerut organized a CDE Programme under the guidance of our esteemed Principal Sir, Dr. Nikhil Srivastava on 13th April, 2024 on the topic “Full Coverage Restorations in Pediatric Dentistry” & Hands-on “Stainless Steel Crowns”.
The lecture was taken by Dr. Nikhil Marwah (Associate Dean, Research, MGUMST, Professor & Head, Department of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry, Mahatma Gandhi Dental College, Jaipur).
During lecture Dr. Nikhil Marwah sir has enlightened the students with indication, contraindications, Preparation of tooth for stainless steel crown. The Lecture has been attended by 105 Undergraduate Students. Lecture was followed by hands on experience by selected 25 students for the stainless steel crown. In the end the Guest Speaker was felicitated by our Principal Sir, Dr. Nikhil Srivastava.

The lecture was taken by Dr. Kunal Gupta (Pediatric Dentist, Owner of Children Dental Centre, Gurugram).
The lecture highlighted the objectives & uses of nitrous oxide sedation in the all field of Dentistry. In the end the Guest Speaker was felicitated by our Principal Sir, Dr. Nikhil Srivastava.

(Dr.) Anish Poonia is a distinguished alumni of Department of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry from 2008-2011.

28th -29th August, 2023
A two days Faculty Development Program was organized by Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry (SDC&H) under the aegis of Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry on 28th – 29th August 2023. The program started on with the Inaugural address of Secretary ISPPD, Dr Nikhil Srivastava, followed by President ISPPD, Dr Radhika Muppa. Hon VC of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University , Maj Gen Dr G K Thapliyal also addressed the participants with his words of wisdom .
The program highlights included, 4 sessions for two days: one session of two hours in morning and one session in the afternoon. Overall 12 speakers were there for all the sessions along with 16 moderators who moderated the sessions and concluded the session with Q&A .
A total number of 404 participants registered for the FDP in which both ISPPD members and Non ISPPD members took part. The program was conducted with the aim to train our trainers and to enhance and upgrade their skills more so that the maximum benefit can be achieved by the students
The chief coordinator for the program was Dr Nikhil Srivastava, along with other members : Dr Vivek Rana , Dr Noopur Kaushik, Dr Tushar Pruthi , Dr Navpreet kaur and Dr Shruti Jha.
Guest Lecture & Workshop by Dr Nitesh Tiwari on the topic
“Developing protocols for Systematic Review”
on 24-05-2023
Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Subharti Dental College and Hospital, Meerut organized a guest lecture and workshop under the guidance of our esteemed Principal Sir, Dr. Nikhil Srivastava on 24th May 2023 on the topic “Developing Protocols for Systematic Reviews”. The lecture was taken by Dr. Nitesh Tiwari (Additional Professor, Department of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry, A.I.I.M.S., New Delhi).
The lecture highlighted the way of framing question for conducting systematic review, search strategy and protocol development for Prospero. In the second half a workshop was also conducted by Dr. Nitesh Tiwari in which twenty eight participants took part and they had a first hand experience in “How to register a question as systematic review in Prospero”. Apart from this they were also taught how to search Pubmed with the help of Mesh words. In the end the Guest Speaker was felicitated by our Principal Sir, Dr. Nikhil Srivastava.
CDE & Hands on program by Dr. Shrey Dhawan on 11.10.2022 on the topic Rotary Endodontics
Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry in collaboration with Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Subharti Dental College and Hospital, Meerut organized a CDE and Hands on Program for undergraduate students under the guidance of our esteemed Principal Sir, Dr. Nikhil Srivastava on 11th October 2022 on the topic “Rotary Endodontics ”. The guest lecture was taken by Dr. Shrey Dhawan (Private Practitioner ,New Delhi). Dr Shrey had completed his graduation and post graduation in the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics from the Manipal University. The lecture highlighted the mechanical and biological objectives of endodontic therapy along with use of rotary files. Around 100 undergraduates and 80 interns participated in the CDE. Followed by CDE lecture, hands on workshop for the use of rotary files was received by interns. In the end the Guest Speaker was felicitated by our Principal Sir, Dr. Nikhil Srivastava.
CDE & Hands on program by Dr. AbhinayAgarwal on the topic Direct Veneers on 28.03.2023
A one day UG CDE Program on Direct Veneers was conducted by the Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics in Collaboration with Department of Peadiatric & Preventive Dentistry, Subharti Dental college and Hospital on 28.03.2023. The guest speaker of the day was Dr. Abhinay Agarwal, Professor , Department of Conservative and Endodontics, Teerthanker Mahaveer Dental College and Research Centre, Moradabad, who enlightened the students on the concepts of esthetics and direct composite veneers. The lecture was conducted in LT-4 followed by demonstration - Hands on course ,for all the participants was conducted in Conservative UG Pre- clinical Lab. A total of 69 students participated in the course and learned clinical tips to ease the problems encountered during direct composite veneers. In the end the Guest Speaker was felicitated by Dr Vineeta Nikhil , HOD , Department of Conservative and Endodontics.

Keep my space : Preventive Orthodontics
Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, Subharti Dental College and Hospital , Meerut organised an Alumni guest Lecture under the guidance of our esteemed principal , Dr Nikhil Srivastava, on 3rdFebruary 2020 on the topic “Keep my Space : Preventive Orthodontics”. The lecture was taken by Dr Gunjan Yadav, MDS Pedodontics and preventive Dentistry, who is an alumni from the first Batch of BDS i.e 96 Batch and completed her MDS in the year 2007 from Subharti Dental college . Currently she is working as professor in the department of Pedodontics and preventive Dentistry, Sardar Patel Dental college, Lucknow. The lecture highlighted the importance of space maintainers in Pediatric dentistry . In the end the Guest speaker was Felicitated by our principal, Dr Nikhil Srivastava. More than 100 final year and third year students took part in the lecture.

Value Added Course organized by the Department
A two day value aided course was conducted by the Department of Pediatric and preventive dentistrt, on 20th and 21st may 2019. The course mentor was Dr Sharath Asokan, Prof and head at KSR institute of Dental sciences and research, Tiruchengode, Tamil Nadu. He talked on the Topic “Re-search Research” . It mainly focused on the basics of epidemiology and biostatistics through a series of lectures and activity based learning. This program was designed for post graduate dental students to help them carry out short term /conference studies and their main dissertation. Also he talked on the topic “Master key- soft skills in dentistry”, which basically dealt with Child psychology in detail, and was mostly for the Final year Under graduate and post graduate students , along with faculty of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry.
The grand 3 day academic extravaganza Pedo Panacea concluded on 16th February. Under the able leadership of the organizing chairman Dr. Nikhil Srivastava Principal and Dean Subharti Dental College, General Secretary ISPPD, Convention secretary Dr. IK Pandit, Organizing secretary - Dr Vivek Rana and their team was a huge success. The chief guest of the inaugural ceremony honorable Dr. Dibyendu Majumdar, President Dental Council of India, highly appreciated the contribution of Subharti Dental College and Hospital in the field of dental education. The convention was attended by more than 800 delegates from over 150 colleges from all over India besides from other countries like Malaysia, USA, Arab countries. With more than 27 guest speakers, 2 symposiums, 160 oral presentations, 52 posters, 60 video presentations covering various topics of the speciality, the content, arrangements, hospitality was appreciated by one and all. The participants were also rewarded for their excellence in presentations by various prizes. Delegates also took active participation in Pedo got Talent a cultural event which was also a part of the convention. The host Subharti Dental College and Hospital and the organizing team extends their heartfelt thanks to all the delegates for their active participation and making this event a tremendous success.
1st National symposium on tooth trauma
Department of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry, Subharti Dental College & Hospital, organized a 2 days national symposium on the topic “Tooth Trauma” on 21st & 22nd Ausust, 2015. The guest speakers, Prof. Navneet Grewal, Dr. Anil Chandra, Dr. Rajeev Tahper, Dr. Velmurgan & Dr. M.S. Muthu delivered lectures on Ellis classification of Ant. Tooth trauma (Class I-IX). A systematic review on Ant. Tooth trauma was delivered by the faculty of Department of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry, Subharti Dental College & Hospital. More than 300 delegates actively participated to make this CDE programme a grand success.
Brainium
Department of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry, Subharti Dental College & Hospital, organized a CDE-cum-inter dental college quiz competition on 13th July, 2013 on the topic “Do’s & Dont’s of MDS final examination: Tips and ways to effectively take practicals & theory”. The guest speaker “Prof. M.S. Muthu” delivered a lecture on CDE topic & a quiz competition was also conducted by the department. More than 250 delegates actively participated & the CDE programme was a huge success.
CDE on Intercept to Align
Department of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry, Subharti Dental College & Hospital, organized a CDE programme (Lecture cum hands on course) on 2nd December, 2017 on the topic “Intercept to Align, key to perfect smile and occlusion”. The guest speakers, Prof. Navneet Grewal, Dr. T.P. Chaturvedi and Dr. Binu T. Abraham delivered lectures and conducted hands-on workshop on Twin block appliance and mini implants. More than 200 delegates activity participated and the CDE programme was a huge success.
Contemporary Esthetic Dentistry
A lecture cum hands on course on the topic “Contemporary Esthetic Dentistry” was held on 1st December, 2015 at the department of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry, Subharti Dental College & Hospital, in collaboration with 3M. Dr. Pankaj Maheshwari was the guest speaker. More than 200 BDS Students attended this workshop to make it a grand success.
Workshop on S. S. Crown
Department of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry, Subharti Dental College & Hospital, conducted a Workshop cum Hands on S. S. Crwon on 5th October, 2016. The guest speaker Dr. Moushmi Singh delivered a lecture & conducted hand on workshop on S. S. Crown. 50 delegates actively participated in the workshop.
