SUBHARTI ALUMNI LECTURE SERIES, GUEST LECTURE ON UNDERSTANDING HEPATITIS -A DENTIST’S PERSPECTIVE

Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology & Oral Microbiology, Subharti Dental College & Hospital, Meerut organized an Alumni guest lecture under the guidance of our Respected Principal & Dean Dr. Nikhil Srivastava Sir, on 26th December 2025 on the topic “Understanding Hepatitis -A Dentist’s Perspective”. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Chitrapriya Saxena, Assistant Professor, Kalka Dental College, Meerut. Dr. Chitrapriya Saxena completed her MDS in 2015 from SDC & H. The lecture highlighted the importance of hepatitis, its infection control, awareness regarding transmission risks in dental practice, and the dentist’s role in prevention and patient education. The program ended with felicitation of the guest speaker. The webinar was fruitful for more than hundred participants.

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology & Oral Microbiology, organized a Guest Lecture on “Artificial Intelligence in Diagnosis”, for faculty members and postgraduate students on 27th August 2025. The resource person was Dr. J. Augustine, Professor, Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, New Delhi. The lecture emphasized the impact of artificial intelligence in the field of Oral diagnosis, prediction and treatment outcome. He opined that it is encouraging to see artificial intelligence is expanding its wings in various fields of dentistry especially in the field of diagnosis. 90 Postgraduates and 49 faculty members from different departments of Subharti Dental College & Hospital attended the lecture. The guest speaker was felicitated by Principal & Dean Dr Nikhil Srivastava and Dr Vijay Wadhwan (Professor & Head), Dr. Preeti Sharma, Dr. Ekta Vishnoi, Dr. Purnima Gupta.

Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology & Oral Microbiology, Subharti Dental College & Hospital, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut organized CDE & Hands on Workshop on “Artificial Intelligence and Its Role in Dentistry” on 29th May 2025 for undergraduate students under the guidance of our Respected Principal & Dean Dr. Nikhil Srivastava Sir. This is the first ever hands on workshop conducted in the Dental College on the topic Artificial Intelligence so as to sensitize the students regarding its application in Dentistry. ONLINE SLIDE SEMINAR ON SELECTED CASES OF ORAL PATHOLOGY (SCOOP 2025) HELD ON 24TH APRIL 2025

Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology & Oral Microbiology, Subharti Dental College & Hospital, SVSU, Meerut in association with Indian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologists organized an online slide seminar “SCOOP-2025 (Selected Cases of Oral Pathology)” on 24th April 2025 that brought together 170 PGs and 84 esteemed faculty members from all over the country.

The seminar was nothing short of inspiring, featuring 10 top-notch speakers from across India including an international speaker, each bringing a unique perspective and deep insights into the world of Oral pathology & Microbiology. It was truly inspiring to hear from such a diverse group of professionals!

We also witnessed over 30 fascinating case presentations from both faculty and PGs, each one sparking engaging discussions and thought-provoking ideas. This event was a perfect blend of knowledge, collaboration, and growth. CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL ORAL PATHOLOGIST’S DAY 2025

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology & Oral Microbiology organized five competitions namely quiz competition, crossword competition, poster making, essay writing and rangoli making on occasion of National Oral Pathologist’s Day organized from 22nd to 25th February 2025. Total 103 undergraduate students participated in mentioned events, the theme for Poster Making and Essay Writing was Tobacco cessation- yesterday, today and tomorrow & Reasons for tobacco control failure in India respectively. The programme emphasized on the role of dentists in tobacco cessation and awareness of Oral Cancer for students and faculty members of Subharti Dental College & Hospital. The judges for competition organized were felicitated by the Head of the Department Dr. Vijay Wadhwan Sir and faculty members of the department. The best posters, essay writing and winners of quiz competition, crossword competition were awarded with gifts and certificates of appreciation by Principal & Dean Dr. Nikhil Srivastav Sir.

VALUE ADDED COURSE ON “STRESS MANAGEMENT SKILLS”

A 4-day Value Added Course was organized on “Stress Management Skills” from 10th July to 13th July 2024 by Dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology & Oral Microbiology. More than 100 participants attended the course. The course was conducted by -

All the speakers deliberated upon various techniques to manage stress in day-to-day life and the coping mechanisms for the stress. The workshop successfully ended on 13th July 2024 with valedictory function where all the course coordinators were felicitated and also all the participants were given certificate of attendance.

SUBHARTI ALUMNI LECTURE SERIES, GUEST LECTURE ON “PSCYCHIATRY WITH DENTISTRY”

Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology & Oral Microbiology, Subharti Dental College & Hospital, Meerut organized an Alumni guest lecture under the guidance of our Respected Principal & Dean Dr. Nikhil Srivastava Sir, on 24th May 2024 on the topic Psychiatry Within Dentistry”. The lecture was taken by Dr. Arvind V, Consultant Oral Pathologist, Magni5 Diagnostics, Chennai. Dr. Arvind V has passed his MDS in 2016 from SDC & H. The lecture highlighted the important correlation between Psychiatry and its impact on Dental patients and its increased risk of outcomes. The program ended with felicitation of the guest speaker. The webinar was fruitful for more than hundred participants.

Total 43 undergraduate students participated in mentioned events, the theme for Poster Making and Essay Writing was Dentistry in COVID-19 & Health effects of Tobacco respectively. The programme emphasized on the role of dentists during pandemic and its future aspects in dental practice. The celebration successfully ended with Nukkad Natak on the awareness of Oral Cancer for students and faculty members of Keral Verma Faculty of Science College, Subharti University. The best posters, essay writing and winners of quiz competition were awarded with gifts and certificates of appreciation.

GUEST LECTURE ON “DIGITALIZATION OF DENTAL RECORDS” HELD ON 31ST JANUARY 2024
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology & Oral Microbiology, conducted Guest Lecture on “Digitalization of Dental Records”, for faculty members and postgraduate students on 31st January 2024. The resource person was Dr J Augustine, Professor, Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, New Delhi. The lecture emphasized on impact of digital technology on dentistry. He opined that digital management system helps dental practices save time and maximizes efficient features like digital charting, integrated scheduling and paperless record storage makes accessing & managing patient information faster for whole dental team. 75 Postgraduates and 45 faculty members from different departments of Subharti Dental College & Hospital attended the lecture. The guest speaker was felicitated by Principal & Dean Dr Nikhil Srivastava Sir and Prof & Head Dr Vijay Wadhwan Sir.

PALS CAMP ORGANIZED ON 26TH OCTOBER 2023

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology & Oral Microbiology conducted Public Awareness Lecture Series (PALS) along with Nukkad Natak and screening camp in Aanganwadi Centre and the Panchayat of Mainaputhi, Meerut. The talk was delivered by Dr. Suhasini GP & Dr. Roli Singh on misuse of Tobacco products and its ill effects on overall well-being of individuals. The beneficiaries included the school going children, and local residents. The awareness camp screened 30 patients and successfully ended with Nukkad Natak performed by the undergraduate students of Subharti Dental College on awareness about Oral Cancer.

GUEST LECTURE ON “PLAGIARISM IN DENTAL SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND HOW TO PREVENT IT” HELD O 12TH APRIL 2023
The department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology & Oral Microbiology, conducted Guest Lecture on “Plagiarism in Dental Scientific Research and How to prevent it”, for faculty members, researchers, postgraduates and interns on 12th April 2023. The resource person was Dr Deepika Mishra, Additional Professor, Division of Oral Pathology and Microbiology, Centre of Dental Education and Research, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. The lecture emphasized on the various types of plagiarism, ill-effects of plagiarism and means of shielding oneself from plagiarism. She opined that plagiarism in research can have dire consequences in academic, personal, as well as professional growth. 91 Postgraduates and 54 faculty members from different departments of Subharti Dental College & Hospital attended the lecture. The guest speaker was felicitated by Dr Nikhil Srivastava, Principal & Dean, and Dr Vijay Wadhwan, Prof & Head. Dr Roli Singh was the Master of Ceremonies and Dr Preeti Sharma & Dr Suhasini G P contributed towards the seamless conduction of the lecture.

VALUE ADDED COURSE ON “WORK LIFE BALANCE: MANTRAS OF SUCCESS” HELD FROM 29TH MARCH TILL 01 APRIL 2023

A four day value added course of 32 hours duration was organised on “Work Life Balance: Mantras of Success” from 29th March till 01st April 2023 by the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology & Oral Microbiology in collaboration with Rajyoga Education and Research Foundation, Brahmakumaris, Mt. Abu, Rajasthan. A total of 156 participants attended the course, the resource persons for the course were BK Laxmi (Head & Coordinator, Rajyoga Meditation centre, Brahmakumaris, Shradhapuri, Meerut), BK Piyush (Zonal Coordinator, Scientist and Engineers Wing, Brahmakumaris, New Delhi), BK Rajkiran (Retired Bank Officer, Senior Rajyoga Teacher), BK Neha (Rajyoga Teacher, Brahmakumaris, Shradhapuri, Meerut), BK Neha (SelfManagement Trainer), BK Jyoti (Rajyoga Teacher, Brahmakumaris, Shradhapuri, Meerut), BK Aarti (Rajyoga Teacher, Brahmakumaris, Shradhapuri, Meerut), BK Prof. Dr. Ramendra (Principal, SGPG College, Sarurpur, Meerut). All the speakers talked to participants about time management during studies, how to cope up with stress and anxiety, relationship issues and also told student about benefits of meditation and its long term effects on personal as well as social well-being. The workshop also included some activities like meditation, brain exercises and one to one interactions with students. The workshop successfully ended on 01st April 2023 with valedictory function where all the guest speakers were felicitated and also all the participants were given certificate of attendance.

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology & Oral Microbiology conducted poster making & slogan writing competition along with NukadNatak on the occasion of National Oral Pathologist’s Day organised on 25th February 2023. Total 80 undergraduate students participated in the competition, the theme for poster making and slogan writing was Artificial Intelligence in Oral Pathology and Oral cancer respectively. The programme emphasized on the importance of Artificial Intelligence in Oral pathology and about its future aspects in dental practice. Post graduates and faculty members from different departments attended the same. The celebration successfully ended with a NukkadNatak on the awareness about Oral cancer for 40 patients conducted in lobby of Subharti Dental College & Hospital. The best posters and slogans were awarded gifts and certificates of appreciation.

29TH NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF INDIAN ASSOCIATION OF ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL PATHOLOGISTS ON MAXILLOFACIAL INFECTIONS: EVOLVING PARADIGMS HELD FROM 11TH TO 13TH NOVEMBER 2022

The department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology& Oral Microbiologyis proud to have successfully conducted the 29th IAOMP National conference which was well attended by keen participation of more than 600 delegates across India from 11th to 13th November at Dehradun, Uttrakhand. The theme of conference was “Maxillofacial Infections: Evolving paradigms”, and the topic was important in the current prevailing scenario of pandemic. The scientific milieu included Pre conference courses, keynote lectures, plenary talks, interactive panel discussions, slide seminar, paper and poster presentation sessions, Competitions for Postgraduates and Faculty.
The conference aimed to arouse an interest in this less explored field of maxillofacial infections and was fruitful and useful for all who attended.

Value Added Course on “Investigations- When, How, Why and What?” held on 10^th& 11^th June 2022

A two day value added course of 16 hours duration was organized on “Investigations- When, How, Why and What?” on 10^th& 11^th June 2022 organised by Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology & Oral Microbiology and Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology. A total of 135 participants attended the programme which included Interns, BDS final year students & faculty of both the departments. The resource person for the course was Dr. Priya Kumar, Professor, Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, New Delhi and Dr. Ankit Goel (Oral Physician and Maxillofacial Radiologist), Director, Dr. Goel’s Dental and Maxillofacial Diagnostics, Hapur. They talked to the participants about most commonly used investigations (radiological and haematological) and guided them to implement these investigations in various oral lesions which are encountered in dental practice. Students also learned about the indications and how to read and interpret the results of various investigations. The workshop ended on 11^th June with the valedictory function.

A two day value added course of 16 hours duration was organized on “Dental Practice Management – Manage It Like A Pro” on 21st& 22nd December 2021 in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology & Oral Microbiology. A total of 127 participants attended by post graduate students, under graduate students & faculty of Subharti Dental College & Hospital. The resource person for the course was Dr. Puneet Ahuja, Principal & Dean, DJ College of Dental Sciences & Research, Modinagar. He talked to the participants about various aspects of establishment of a successful dental practice like patient management, communication skills, continuous upgradation etc. The workshop ended on 22nd December with the valedictory function.

The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Microbiology organized the 2nd session on 23rd April 2021 in a series of webinars organized by the Subharti Dental College & Hospital as the institute is celebrating 25 Years of Excellence. The webinar was attended by more than three hundred faculty members, postgraduates and undergraduates from different parts of the country. The guest speaker was Dr. Abhay Gaidhane, Director, School of Public Health and Epidemiology, Community Medicine, JNMC Wardha. The topic of Webinar) was “Planning a Research study" the webinar emphasized on planning different researches in a much simpler way. The course benefitted both the post-graduate and undergraduate students.

The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Microbiology organized 1st session in a series of webinars to be organized by the Subharti Dental College & Hospital as the institute is celebrating 25 Years of Excellence, on 09th April 2021, for faculty, post graduates and undergraduates of Subharti Dental College & Hospital.
The guest speaker was Dr Mandeep Kaur, Associate Professor, Indira Gandhi Dental College, Jammu, the first post graduate alumna of the department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology, 2004 Batch. The topic of Alumni Guest Lecture (Webinar) was “Targeting Oral Candidiasis: An Overview" and it focused on Understanding of underlying causes, pathogenesis, various clinical manifestations & treatment of Oral
Candidiasis. The webinar was fruitful for more than four hundred participants.

The department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology organized an International webinar on “Low dose light treatments in managing cancer treatment associated mucositis: Mechanisms and new clinical guidelines'' on 03 October 2020, for faculty, postgraduates and undergraduates. The guest speaker was Dr Praveen Arany, (Guest Speaker) DDS, PhD, Assistant Professor, University of Buffalo, New York, USA. The session was moderated by Dr Alka D Kale (Moderator), Principal, KLE’s VK Institute of Dental Sciences, Belgaum, Karnataka. The webinar focused on photo dynamic therapy in managing cancer patients. The webinar was fruitful for more than three hundred sixty participants.

Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and Microbiology organized a webinar on “Plugging in with yourself in Uncertain Times” by Mrs. Anika Kumar Vashishth, a renowned counselor, on 13/07/2020 for the Faculty & Students of Subharti Dental College. The webinar focused on the coping techniques and tips to deflect these emotional storms, during uncertain times through an interactive session. The webinar was conducted on Microsoft teams and was fruitful to more than one hundred & twenty attendees.

Screening Camp organized on National Oral Pathologist’s Day 25th Feb. 2020
Camp was organized for L&T EDFC Mohiuddinpur Yard Industry workers on National Oral Pathologist’s Day 25th Feb. 2020. Faculty, postgraduate students of Oral Pathology and Interns participated in the dental camp for detection of premalignant and malignant diseases. More than hundred industry workers benefited from this camp.

16th National PG Convention of IAOMP- Hematopathology- An Uncharted Terrain Held on 23rd-25th June 2017
The department of oral pathology holds the pride of organizing the 16th National PG Convention of IAOMP which was well-attended by a keen participation of more than 500 delegates. These lectures and preconvention courses aimed to arouse an interest in this less explored field of hematopathology, and were fruitful and useful for all who attended.

XIV National Triple O Symposium 2016 SDC-(Integrated approach to diagnosis and management, SVSU, Meerut 4th to 6th March 2016
The department aims at equipping future Oral Pathologists with comprehensive skill sets and expertise in the field of dentistry. With this aim the department of oral pathology organized XIV National Triple O Symposium on the topic Integrated approaches to diagnosis and management on 04th – 06th March, 2016. The conference was fruitful to more than 500 delegates. The stalwarts of Oral Medicine, Oral Surgery and Oral Pathology were felicitated in the conference.
