A guest lecture on the topic “Understanding and Writing a Cochrane Systematic Review”was organized by the Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry on 16th October 2016. The speaker was Dr. Neeraj Gugnani, Professor, Dept. of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, Dav Dental College, Yamuna Nagar.
Dr. Neeraj Gugnani emphasized on the fact that systematic reviews have a vital role in providing reliable syntheses of existing research for evidence-based decision making. Understand the key concepts involved in the design and production of systematic reviews of health research. His lecture was to make the students and faculty Learn to interpret and critically appraise the results of systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
Dr. Preetika Chandna welcomed and introduced the speaker and Dr. Nikhil Srivastava, Principal, Subharti Dental College gave a memento of thanks to Dr. Neeraj Gugnani.

Hands on Workshop in Oral Pathology

A hands on workshop was organized on “Integrated Rugoscopy Chart” for interns and undergraduates in the Department of Oral Pathology on 17th November 2016. The resource person for workshop and hands-on demonstration were Dr. Aman Chowdhry.. Associate Professor in Oral pathology, Dr. Deepika Bablani Popli. Assistant Professor in Oral pathology, and Priyanka kapoor. Associate Professor in Orthodontics, Jamia Milia Islamia College, New Delhi on this fast emerging specialty of Forensic Odontology.
The speakers were welcomed by Dr. Nikhil Srivastava, Principal, Subharti Dental College. The program was well-attended by a keen participation of more than 100 undergraduate and interns. This workshop aimed to arouse an interest in this less explored field of forensic science, and was fruitful and useful for all who attended.
