History
Subharti Dental College was started under the umbrella of Subharti KK B Charitable Trust in the year1996. “Subharti” is a manifestation of the ideas of Dr. Atul Krishna a noted surgeon of western Uttar Pradesh & Dr. Mukti Bhatnagar a reputed physician & medical imaging specialist.
The idea of Subharti was born in the mind of Dr Atul Krishna when he was a young medical student of LLRM Medical College Meerut in 1974 as social service organization. In 1995 Subharti K K B Charitable Trust was established to give practical shape to dreams & aspirations of the team at Subhartipuram. The dental college was the first educational project of this dynamic group and it started functioning initially on the premises of Lokpriya Hospital, a privately owned and hugely popular general hospital in Meerut.
The new campus was meanwhile taking shape on Delhi-Haridwar Bypass Road and the college was shifted here in 1999. Several other colleges came up on its premises including Subharti Medical College, Nursing and Physiotherapy colleges, an engineering and law college etc. In 2008, the Subharti group of institutions was finally awarded the status of a private University which is now a approx 200 acre educational township on the outskirts of Meerut city.
The university has been named the Swami Vivekanand Subharti University in respect and memory of that great Indian monk and teacher.
